Locally owned Midlands Media Group is seeking an enthusiastic,  driven, competitive Multimedia Account Executive to take full ownership of building and managing a book of business. In this full-cycle sales role, you will focus on bringing in new clients through face-to-face consultation while maintaining long-term relationships with existing accounts. If you love the thrill of closing deals and controlling your income, this may be the job for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new business using data-driven insights and tools.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments and present tailored marketing strategies to local and regional business owners.
  • Represent our full portfolio of solutions, including broadcast, digital, programmatic, and feature sponsorships.
  • Cross-sell and upsell to expand your clients’ reach and ROI, while maintaining positive long-term relationships.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales revenue goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding goals.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, prospecting, and securing new business.
  • Strong work ethic, high drive, and a competitive spirit.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; highly organized
  • Required: Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and active auto insurance for daily travel.

Work Schedule:

Work schedule hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Attendance at company meetings and/or events as well as networking functions which may fall outside normal Monday through Friday schedule may also be required.

Required skills & experience:

  • Minimum of one year news reporting experience using AP style skills
  • Self-starter with a desire to seek out and write interesting stories
  • Proficient with digital/social media platforms such as websites, Facebook, Twitter, etc
  • Ability to capture the visual aspect of a story with basic photography skills
  • Comfortable interacting with people of all walks of life
  • Have a positive and professional attitude and able to represent our brand well
  • Highly familiar with the Greater Columbia/Midlands area; neighborhoods and organizations

Desired additional skills & experience:

  • Working knowledge of and experience with BLOX or similar news platforms
  • Understanding of digital analytics
  • Basic graphic design
  • Bachelors degree in journalism
